Our self-catering cottage, or gîte, is a former farm in the heart of the Somme Valley? between Amiens and Villers-Bretonneux. Past the carriage entrance, you can park your car in the area in front of the house. The house is not visible from the street, and no neighbour can overlook on it. At the back, there are a table and chairs, barbecue facilities, and a large backgarden with lofty trees.
On the ground-floor, you step directly into the TV-lounge with its unused fire-place, separated from the dining room with old beams. Then, you have another, more modern dining room close to the kitchen. Tv set with French channels and dvd player are at your disposal.
In the kitchen : oven, micro-wave oven, fridge with a little freezer, dish-washer, coffee-machine, electric whisk, assorted crockery and cuttlery, pots and pans, salad dish, and a plenty of other things.
At the foot of the stairs, there are toilets, and at the top, a long corridor. Mind your head, old beams are hard.
Upstairs : the bathroom has a big shower, toilets, a towel-dryer and two hair-dryers ; the blue room has a 90cm bed and can have an extra bed for a sixth person : the pink room has two 90cm beds and the cream-coloured room has a 160cm bed.
Bedlinen and towels are supplied, beds are made. But house-cleaning is not included in the price. Our guests are asked to clean the house before departing.
In the old barn, there is the fitness corner, the indoor swimming-pool (4x6m) with a counter-current swimming system. The barn is to be shared with our b&b guests, if any.
